Bar Mitzvah / Bat Mitzvah
I began tutoring Bar and Bat Mitzvah students long before I became a rabbi. I have over 20 years experience working with children with differing levels of Jewish knowledge and learning styles. We focus on your child's abilities, not "challenges", and build from there. My goal is to enable your child to reach his/her spiritual potential and to become passionate about our Jewish Heritage.
The Mitzvah Experience

The Mitzvah Experience is a custom designed program for your child that incorporates these three pillars of Jewish life and culminates in an inspiring Bar or Bat Mitzvah service. My students learn everything from the basics of Jewish tradition to reading and chanting Hebrew to how to live a meaningful Jewish life. All learning is one-on-one and can take place in your home, my office, or for those outside the Greater Vancouver Region, via electronic communication such as ZOOM.
We want our children to appreciate the beauty and strength of age-old traditions and to feel a connection to them. We want them to bring their own sense of Jewishness alive and feel a sense of belonging to the broader Jewish world. Above all, the Mitzvah Experience is about your child — about gaining the confidence that comes from completing an important task. That confidence is priceless, and since success breeds success, achieving this milestone is something that will translate into happiness for years to come.
